Prickly Pear

I think I've said before that I'm a bit of an untidy person. Which is a shame really because Steve is ultra tidy and he absolutely despairs of me! You can't open a cupboard without being attacked by bags of remnants and he regularly finds pins and needles in the carpet (tut-tut) Is anyone else out there like me or am I such a terrible slut?!
Anyway I though it was high-time I got myself a pincushion before a casualty occurs, and I found a fab pattern here.

Mmm, not bad for a first attempt! And managed to disguise the less than perfect bits!

What a lovely pear! (Couldn't resist -sorry!)

  1. Its a very sweet pear. Think I'll make one.
Its OK you have a 'friend' I'm untidy with a tidy husband, I also have a one tidy son and two untidy ones! I leave needles mostly lying around! But I do have a system, I only ever have one needle out at a time so when I lose it I shout "Needle Alert" and try and find it!

  2. Hi Kirsty! Sometimes I think it's good that I don't have a Mister! I can just carry on regardless. Love your new pincushion! Lots of love, Amanda xxx

  3. Yup, it's the same in our house. Niles Crane married super slut. My son has the nerve to complain about the untidyness, not realising that a good percentage of mess is his own.
How about a magnet on a stick? Just skim it over the floor, carpet etc after a crafting moment.
Nice pear - should help with the pins & needles. xx

  4. Less than perfect is exactly what I was talking about myself. Less than perfect is simply perfect to me. Great pear! xox Corrine

  5. I love it I love it I love it!!

I have a thing for pears (not sure why, just do) and little stitchy ones for pins are just the best! Brilliant pattern, hopefully it will take care of your carpet/pin problem and please dont worry, you are certainly not alone, I find all manner of arty crafty objects in our carpets despite the hoovering - must just come with the territory of being a creative sort eh?!

    Love Julia x x x

  7. Lovely pair, another project to add to my list...

Sadly I'm messy too, I'm sure it's compulsory if you're creative! Luckily my Mr isn't tidy either - he thinks he is, but I have evidence to the contrary, x

  10. my needlework cupboard is on the upstairs landing and yes, Ted has been heard to let out howls in the middle of the night as he limps back from the bathroom having trodden on a pin...surprising just what you can sleep through when you have too ;))

Never thought about it until I just read Andis' comment- yes, I'll have a magnet moment now after the sewing box gets stashed...now where did I put the magnet?

    Have a good week
    xx

  11. Love it, what a great pincushion! I must admit to being un-tidy myself but I think it is mainly as I hate throwing things away.
