There have been a few changes around here lately, all of which I will share with you at some point or other. One major change, and one that I am so thrilled about, is that after so many years of working at the dining room table, I now have my own 'studio'! Come and have a look around! (Apologies for the dark photos, once again it's peeing down outside and it doesn't look like it's going to stop anytime soon...)
This room used to be the boys' toyroom (there are still reminders of that, but I kinda like them.)
I cannot tell you how wonderful it is not to have to pack everything away every time we have a meal! Or hoover all my bits up before you-know-who*comes back from work! Or have to get my sewing machine out of the cupboard all the time: now it is plugged in, on the table and ready to go!!
I know exactly where everything is!!
And I've got somewhere to display my ever-expanding fabric collection!
It's a little bare still - I'm sure it will evolve over time and look like more like a workspace.
This part of a wall is completely blank - the birdcage is waiting to be shipped off to a customer, but I have ordered something scrummy to hang there - I'll share a pic when it arrives!
Of course it doesn't always look like this! I tidied up before I took the photos, but whadya think? I'm still hankering after a summerhouse studio in the garden, but this will do me nicely for now!
*Partner with OCD tendencies (who is equally chuffed with the new 'arrangement'!)
BTW, my latest batch of Moo postcards arrived this morning - I'm dead chuffed with them, the St Ives collage reproduced beautifully!
Oh yes, almost forgot - I now have Facebook page! Sign up in my sidebar for latest news, giveaways etc!
Hi Kirsty
ReplyDeleteI love your new studio and especially I love how bare and airy it looks! If only my summerhouse garden studio looked that tidy - ha ha!!
I've been out there today with the raining pouring down around, making a gift for Mr Bun's birthday which is tomorrow.
Your fabric collection is gorgeous, BTW !!
Hoping that the cloud which stretches from us in North Somerset to you in Kernow takes a hike very very soon!!

Ooh aah. You lucky lady- that is just fabby dabby doo. I wish that I had a little space too, the kitchen table is a very frustrating place to work. Can't wait to see what other changes have been happening at sixty one A. Ax

ReplyDeleteIt's gorgeous. Even though it's peeing down you still have a light and airy space.
ReplyDeleteI have been working on my studio for a few months now but it will never look as clean as yours!

oh, I stare at my sewing machine fighting for space with the toaster on the kitchen table...pins all over the floor...fabric stash strewn up the stairs...a room of ones own would be BLISS!

Thanks for comment over on mine. Copy away-'twasn't my idea in the first place. I'm just going to be crestfallen when you turn out exquisite and beautifully made things and mine is very ramshackle and Heath Robinson. Try it though- GREAT fun! Ax
ReplyDeleteIt looks inspiring, ready for you to bring it to life with your wonderful work. I have a little room packed to the gunnels with fabric and bits if treasure leaving me a workspace about 6 inches square on the table!
ReplyDeleteoohh how lovely, I wish I had a little hideaway of my own. I bet you will have many a happy creative hour in there.
ReplyDeleteIt is bliss having your own space isn't it Kirstie? I waited years, but now love my sewing room with a passion although I do have to nip outside to get to it which isn't so very fun in the rain! x
ReplyDeleteYour new work space looks fantastic - I wonder how long it will stay that tidy? :)
ReplyDeleteI look forward to seeing your work space blossom!
Oh I am sooooo jealous. I manage between the kitchen table, the garage and the utility room, and its so frustrating sometimes!

It's lovely! I love the colors and be happy that it is a little spare as yet. it will fill up fast enough and it seems one is always trying to clean out.
ReplyDeleteOne of the reasons we bought this house was because there was an outbuilding that could be converted into a studio for me to get all my mess/clutter out of the house (yes, ocd tendencies in my husband!!) Have fun in you new space - it won't take you long to fill it!!
ReplyDeleteOooh lucky you! What a lovely working space!
