Tenby collage

Well done to Melanie Wickham for guessing Tenby!

I love the colours of the buildings here, they remind me of Neopolitan ice-cream!

We have had a few lovely days of sunshine here in Cornwall this week, and with the days drawing out and daffodils blooming, it really feels as though spring is well and truly on its way!
This makes me very happy!

We headed down to the beach looking for "treasure" yesterday....

....and we were not disappointed! (Poor Steve, you cant really see from the picture, but he has 2 industrial sized buckets filled with little bits of driftwood over his shoulders, as well as the longer planks he is carrying - what a star!)

We found this big chunk of hardwood (maybe oak?) which is really heavy and quite an irregular shape. Steve wanted to keep it as a bookend....but then I had other ideas!

  1. Could it not still be used as a bookend?? Come to think of it, your houses would look great if they could too be fashioned as bookends.

  2. Hi Kirsty
That is a perfect boat - the wood looks totally at home as a trusty boat :-)
I love the Tenby collage. Funny I was looking at a photo of the same view of the village yesterday. And your beach photos are gorgeous - ooooh yes, let's hope Spring is around the corner!
Happy days to you - Happy March days!

  5. I love your latest collage - more than building colours I like your boats, I guess it's just me, always noticing the brightest things.

You're so lucky to have lots of drift wood on your beach - we do get some of it, but only after big storms.

And your chunky boat - I think you can compromise and now, that it's complete, use it as a bookend.

  6. So nice to be able to switch from collage to sculpture without missing a beat! And having such good help with collecting materials is so handy! Nice going, as always.
