I came home after visiting my parents at the weekend to find Steve looking pretty pleased with himself after making this rather cool garden chair!
Made from a pallet he 'acquired', he'd got the design from here, where you'll find other clever uses for the humble crate. I rather like this little chair - a couple of child-size ones would be nice!
By the way, these cushion covers (apart from needing a bit of an iron!) are really old - some of my first attempts at sewing: the blue and white one is made from an old linen tea-towel and the red and white one is made from part of a roller towel.
I do like a bit of recycling, don't you?

Wow. I love it. Clever, clever, clever. What a lovely surprise to come back to. The cushions are perfect for it too.ReplyDelete
Its a great chair - a definite talking point. Someone is very clever. If I came back to that sort of thing, I'd know I was in the wrong house! Each to his own...ReplyDelete
Love that chair, I think I will just have to make one from my pallet, which is earmarked for something else - oh I don't know now......ReplyDelete
you guys are so good at this! I love it and what a nice surprise to come home and find that. Laura xReplyDelete
That's a really good idea - recycling at its finest :)ReplyDelete
The chair is great! What a nice idea, I love stuff made from other stuff.ReplyDelete
Want want want. Wish I was good at stuff like that. Hope it stays sunny so you can do lots of sitting! AxReplyDelete
I love it! It looks super comfy too.... just what you need in a garden chair! xReplyDelete
Great chair! It looks nicely weathered too.ReplyDelete
What a fab place to sit and contemplate the blue sky above :-)
Thanks for your number, Kirsty, if we're nearby I'll definitely phone for that cup of tea !!
Recycling is great! Our raised veg beds are made of timber that was washed up on the beach after a container ship lost its load.ReplyDelete
This is recycling at it's finest! Great work :) xReplyDelete
Re fart comment, will pass on to SmallBeans. Thanks for valuable information! AxReplyDelete
Great chair! I've just laughed out loud at the comment you left over at Amanda Makes. The skinny jeans incident is so funny....poor you!ReplyDelete
It looks fab, well done!ReplyDelete
I think that that chair is wonderful, I really love it, and yes I do love a spot of recycling! I have been known to use the odd tea towel too! , I have a blind in the kitchen made from tea towels, and I made some chair cushions from some too! Thanks for visiting! Have a lovely weekend! I love it, super clever and I want one, or in fact two would be nice! I like the cushions as well, they really suit the chair. BxReplyDelete
I think Steve deserves a pat on the back for that one - I daren't show my hub or he'll want a go and we'll end up with bits of wood all over the yard !!ReplyDelete
Excellent chair, well done Steve!ReplyDelete
It's a lovely chair, well done!ReplyDelete
I have a red pallet which I have been trying to get made into a chair just like yours for ages, however the 16 year old teenangel isn't so keen!ReplyDelete
