Christmas Fairs

Hello my lovelies, sorry for another long period of absence: I have been working flat out for these upcoming Christmas fairs and as usual there are not enough hours in the day! I honestly wonder how people manage to do them more than a couple of times a year: they nearly kill me!!

In case you live in, or happen to be visiting, this fantastic corner of the country in the next few weeks, here are some dates to put in your diary!
The first event is at Cowslip Workshops (near Launceston) on 18th, 19th and 20th Nov (details on their website). Kirstie Allsopp and her posse will be there filming on the Friday (18th) - how I do wish she would give me some SPACE - ha ha!! Most likely it will be very busy on that day in particular!

Then, the following Sunday (27th Nov), I will have a table at the wonderful Homespun Fair in Portscatho. I may well find it hard standing by this point, but if you are able to, then please drop in! It is always a lovely event.

I am trying to think of clean ways to display my Christmas decorations: I have a couple of simple designs that I am hoping Steve will be able to help with. In the meantime, I converted this old white box - simply by threading lengths of dowelling through drilled holes...

I have a strict agenda everyday in order to make sure I make enough stock: here are some spotty whales in various colours waiting to be transformed into mobiles...

A line of mice - as yet minus their candy canes (see above!)....

March Of The Penguins...

(my friend reckons they are doing the conga!)

And of course, a whole brood of lavender jellyfish! I could quite happily make these all day - they are such fun!

Well, thats all for now - if you manage to make either fair, please come and say Hello - it would be great to meet you!
Have a lush weekend folks! xx

  2. Sadly there is no way I could make it all the way to Cornwall for the fairs. The box is amazing- the hangies look fab. You'll have to think of ways to get Kirstie looking your way- nudie stall holding? Singing about your wares? Or maybe she will be sensible enough to see them for all their gorgeousness and do a show about you...? Fingers crossed, Ax

  6. I would love to come along to one of the fayres, probably the one at Cowslip Studios, my landlords wife was telling me about it the other day, as she has done quilting workshops there and said how lovely it is.

The display looks lovely, the white of the box really makes the details and the colours of the sewn lovelies stand out!
Ive got a little craft fair coming up next saturday and I'd not even thought yet about the display..yikes! although mine is on a much smaller scale and not as likely to be on the BBC!!!
Love, love LOVE all your little creatures, especially the conga party penguins!!

  7. These are all just gorgeous! Wish I had the time and patience to make them. All the best at the fairs, am getting invites to some myself (at last) so know the feeling!

If you have time, perhaps you'd like to visit my shop at www.coldhamcuddlies.etsy.com as well as the blog where I write about how I make, mend and otherwise create them. That's at www.ColdhamCuddliescalling.blogspot.com. Your comments would, I am sure, be most helpful.

Look forward to seeing you there! All the best. Isobel

  19. Hi Kirsty, I tried replying to your e-mail and it was returned by mailer demon. Not sure what was going on there but rather than appearing rude, I thought I would definitely get hold of you here. I really would like a driftwood sculpture but not for Christmas(you'll be pleased to hear!) I loved the cottage with the lighthouse and the boat with bunting by the cottage. Very fitting now that we live by the sea! Would it be very cheeky to ask that next time you are going to sell some that you could give me prior warning?!! Thank you, best wishes, Katie x
