Driftwood wader

A few weeks ago I found this wonderful piece of wood on Seaton beach.

How perfect for a birds face and bill! Last night I sat with my box of driftwood sticks and had a go at creating the rest....

This is a shot of the other side...

The leg pieces aren't right - need to keep my eyes peeled when I'm on the beach again.
Then there's the tricky problem of getting him to stand up....!

  1. I think he's excellent.
Just wait for his legs - one day you'll find just the right pieces and then you'll be delighted.

  5. It's a curlew! It has such a gentle character and looks graceful - fantastic considering he can't stand up yet but I'm certain you'll get those legs steady!
